Squeezebox Stompers Headline Payson Park Music Festival's Return to Original Location

BELMONT — June 25, 2025 — Belmont's Payson Park Music Festival returned to its original park location for the 2025 season, opening with a Squeezebox Stompers Zydeco and New Orleans roots set on Wednesday, June 25. Festival founder and producer Tommy Olson told the crowd the series, now in its 35th year, had spent two years at an alternative site near the swimming pool and called the homecoming long overdue. Olson announced 10 more Wednesday-night concerts to come, all listed at ppmf.org and on a Grove Street banner, with the next show set for July 2. He introduced four children's concerts this season, including a special Monday, July 7 booking of Evan of the Blissful, and said those shows have been renamed in memory of Sherry Harris Jones. Wednesday's concert was sponsored by Bay State Federal Charitable Foundation, and fellow board member David Emelo videotaped the show for online posting within days.
