Payson Park Music Festival Receives Senate Citation at 35th Season Celebration
BELMONT — August 13, 2025 — Belmont's Payson Park Music Festival marked its 35th consecutive season with a Senate citation and a night of soul music. State Senator Will Brownsberger presented a formal citation from the Massachusetts Senate to festival organizer Tommy Olson at the August 13 outdoor concert in Payson Park, signed by the Senate president and others, recognizing 35 years of continuous free summer music programming. The Boston Soul Review headlined, with Judy Teo, JC, and guest Cheryl Aruda performing, and band manager Rita was brought to the stage for recognition. Olson announced the festival is preparing a YouTube channel to archive past performances, adding to existing postings on the festival's website and Belmont TV. Watertown Savings Bank was credited as the event's sponsor.
