Classic Groove and Belmont Lions Club Bring Free Concert to Payson Park
BELMONT — July 23, 2025 — Classic Groove performed a free outdoor concert at Belmont's Payson Park Music Festival on July 23, sponsored by the Belmont Lions Club. The approximately 90-minute set featured vocalist Sandy Bedrosian, saxophonist and bandleader Steve Tashin, lead guitarist Mark Michaels, and bassist Lee Lundy, with Sean Meehan filling in on drums for the absent Dave Fuller. David Amello, a board member of the Payson Park Music Festival, filled in for board member Tommy Olsen to emcee the evening. Belmont Lions Club president Ken Cruller addressed the crowd, noting the organization has served the community "for over 75 years" and calling it "the largest service organization in the world." The set ranged from Santana and Van Morrison to a closing cover of Aretha Franklin's "Respect."
