Belmont Sets 25th Anniversary 9/11 Ceremony For September
Belmont's Town Hall announced plans this week for a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, set for Sept. 11, 2026. Elsewhere, Belmont Patch reported Belmont High School climbed to No. 2 among Massachusetts public high schools in new rankings, and flagged a program seeking Belmont homes to host an air-quality sensor.

The town's News Flash page posted notice Wednesday of a ceremony honoring victims of the September 11 attacks and "remembering their lives," to be held on the 25th anniversary next year. Further details on time and location had not been posted as of Wednesday; the town directed residents to check back on its website for updates.

Belmont's Economic Development Advisory Committee and Information Technology Advisory Committee both meet Thursday, Aug. 20, the latter held remotely, according to the town's online calendar. The Retirement Board meets remotely Monday, Aug. 24, followed by a hybrid Board of Assessors meeting Tuesday, Aug. 25.
