Belmont Issues Wild Turkey Safety Guidance for Residents

DATELINE — BELMONT — Belmont issued formal wild turkey safety guidance to residents Tuesday, telling neighbors how to handle encounters with the birds as sightings pick up around town. Four town boards convene Wednesday, including a joint session of the Select Board and Board of Assessors.

The town's News Flash system posted a wild turkey safety alert on Aug. 11, addressed to "ALL Belmont Residents," urging caution as the birds turn up more frequently in neighborhoods.
