Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of August 3, 2026
BELMONT — Zoning Board continued 23 White Street mixed-use hearing to September 14 over plan flaws and abutter concerns. Chair Casey Williams and four board members unanimously voted to continue Case 26-15, in which owner Frank Valentino seeks three special permits for a two-story mixed-use building with four residential units. The permits would allow mixed-use development, reduce the side setback to 1.3 feet, and increase FAR to 1.49.
Attorney Joseph Noone acknowledged measurement discrepancies in the plans noted as both 6.8 feet and 6.10 feet. Abutter Cliff Rober opposed the project, citing a planned overhang extending into his client's property at 43 White Street and lack of applicant communication. The board stressed the need for agreement between parties before proceeding.
