Zoning Board approves four residential special permits, one withdrawn

Belmont Zoning Board clears four residential projects in a single meeting. The board voted 5-0 to approve special permits for John Manning Jr. to reduce setbacks at 50 Hillside Terrace and for Lauren Monovich to add a second floor at 39 Thomas Street. In public hearings, it voted 5-0 to permit Snigdha Roy to operate a large-family childcare for up to 10 children ages zero to five at 91 Waverley Street, with conditions including staggered pickups and drop-offs in her driveway every 15 minutes.
The board also approved Ronald Smith's two-story open deck at 73-75 Foster Road and Christina Kritharas's ridge-height and dormer addition at 38-40 Wiley Road, both on 5-0 and 4-0 votes respectively.
