BELMONT — The Warrant Committee heard presentations on three Community Preservation Act proposals totaling more than $78 million. The Sherman Gardens redevelopment, the largest, seeks to replace an existing 80-unit public housing complex built in 1971 with 140 affordable units, including 120 units in a five-story building for seniors and persons with disabilities. The Cambridge Housing Authority would handle primary financial and operational responsibilities; the Belmont Housing Authority retains ownership.

The Committee also reviewed a one-mile Belmont Community Path project estimated at nearly $50 million in construction costs, with the Town requesting an additional $500,000 contingency for easement acquisition. A $35,000 Brendan Grant Field Flagpole Grounds Project was also presented. ===BRIEF===
