BELMONT — Warrant Committee approves Belmont Center Overlay District fiscal analysis with revisions. The committee voted 15-0-2 to adopt draft seven of the report, with Select Board Chair Matt Taylor and School Committee Chair Meg Moriarty abstaining; members emphasized education cost uncertainties and agreed the consultant's assessed value assumptions were sufficiently supported by available data. The Center Gateway Overlay District report, which includes hotel development analysis, was referred back for revision to better align scope and maintain consistency with the Belmont Center analysis.
Chair Paul Rickter advised the committee that FY27 budget milestones remain on track, with health insurance and Group Insurance Commission rates identified as significant cost drivers.
