BELMONT — Shade Tree Bylaw Subcommittee reviews draft tree regulations via Zoom. The four-member panel, chaired by Eva Hoffman, considered residential exemptions for one- to three-family home owners, tree protection standards during construction modeled on Arlington's requirements, and whether a separate Tree Plan should be required for removal applications. Members identified a need to audit current Belmont tree regulations before deciding whether to consolidate multiple ordinances into a single bylaw.

The subcommittee reconvenes March 2, 2026.
