Select Board approves CFO hire, water-sewer rate increases, stormwater contract.

Belmont Select Board names Geoffrey Lubien as Chief Financial Officer and approves utility rate increases. The Board unanimously appointed Lubien, a Warrant Committee veteran with private sector experience, to begin April 27 following a competitive process. In the same meeting, the Board voted unanimously to raise water rates by 3 percent and sewer rates by 4 percent for fiscal year 2027 and approved a $616,972.48 multi-year contract with Stantec Consulting Services for federally mandated stormwater pollution reduction work.
DPW Director Jay Marcotte reported plans to plant 175 trees this spring, the largest single-season effort in town history. The Board also unanimously approved a one-day beer and wine license for the Friends of the Library's May 8 Books in Bloom event and an agricultural wine permit for Arlington Beer Company at the Belmont Farmers' Market from July through October.
