BELMONT — Select Board approves water authority loan and clears two major spring events. The Board unanimously approved a $200,000 no-interest loan from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority for water infrastructure improvements, to be repaid over ten years starting February 2027. Unanimously approved permits also went to the Multicultural Lunar New Year Festival and rolling motorcade on March 15 (rain date March 22), with Moore Street and Leonard Street Delta closed 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and to the annual Belmont Pride Parade on May 31 from 12:45 p.m. at Wellington Station Town Green (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.).
Town Administrator Patrice Garvin presented a preliminary FY2027 budget projecting a 2.5 percent increase, with approximately $1.7 million from the override mitigation fund to balance the budget.
