Planning Board · Meeting of February 17, 2026
BELMONT — Planning Board unanimously rejects nine zoning amendments to overlay districts. Chair Thayer Donham moved to recommend unfavorable action on nine separate amendments to the Belmont Center Zoning Overlay District and Center Gateway Overlay District, all passing 5-0-0, with particular focus on rejecting amendments that would restrict parking flexibility, impose fixed parking-per-unit ratios, or remove residential components from Board discretion. Director Chris Ryan reported the Board is working on a town parking management plan.
The Board unanimously approved cleanup edits to both overlay districts, adding a definition for "art gallery" and correcting definitions and table headers with no substantive changes besides the new definition.
