Planning Board backs revised Belmont Center zoning overlay language
Planning Board · Meeting of February 20, 2026
BELMONT — Planning Board unanimously backs zoning overlay edits for Belmont Center gateway. Chair Thayer Donham led the remote meeting to refine Warrant Article 3, Appendix 2, incorporating staff-recommended changes to guest room definitions and hotel amenity requirements for Class 2 and 3 properties, after public comment from Bob McGaw suggesting clearer language and more flexible fitness standards. Two separate motions passed unanimously: the first 4-0-0 to adopt the definition, capitalization, and formatting revisions to Section 6.15 and 6.15.7; the second endorsing the full revised Appendix 2 as of February 17, 2026.
The recommendations now head to Town Meeting.
