Planning Board Approves Two Residential Permits, Delays Home Expansion and Disputed Amendment
Belmont Planning Board approved two residential expansions and deferred three others.
Planning Board · Meeting of July 7, 2026
Belmont Planning Board approved two residential expansions and deferred three others. Chair Thayer Donham led approval of a 644-square-foot accessory dwelling unit at 709 Belmont Street for applicant Levon Tinkjian, and member Dan Barry led approval of a second-story addition at 125 Channing Road for applicant Chad Verry, both unanimously. The board continued to July 21 a disputed amendment request for 45 Chestnut Street from applicant Assad Hamad, whose contractor moved a garage wall 11 inches during construction without prior board approval; extensive public comment opposed the changes.
Also continued were home-expansion permits for 62 Vernon Road and 7 Broad Street, the latter generating board concerns about dormer proportion.
