NWS Issues Extreme Heat Watch for Belmont Through July 4
The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat watch covering the entire Fourth of July holiday stretch, putting Belmont residents on notice to prepare for dangerous conditions beginning tomorrow morning.

The town posted a heat advisory Tuesday afternoon warning that an NWS extreme heat watch is in effect from 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, through 8 p.m. Saturday, July 4. The watch spans the full Independence Day holiday period. Residents should check on neighbors, limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, and identify cooling options. The town also reminds residents that yard waste collection is suspended for the entire week of June 29 through July 3. Carts should not be set out; the next scheduled collection resumes after the holiday.
