BELMONT — The Belmont Library Board of Trustees voted 5-1 to ratify a consolidated services agreement with the Select Board and approved a $25,000 budget transfer. Chair Edward Barker Jr. led votes to shift $5,000 from plant part-time salaries to electricity and $20,000 from public services part-time salaries to repair and maintenance, addressing unanticipated costs before June 30. The board unanimously adopted a Donation Drive Policy capping community partnerships at seven per year.
The board began recruiting a trustee replacement for a vacancy opening July 1 due to Corinne McCue Olmsted's resignation, with Chair Barker and Library Director Peter Struzziero leading the effort. The new library building project stayed on budget with additional fundraising reducing authorized borrowing needs.
