Belmont's newly opened library draws record crowds; board approves revised meeting room policy. The Board of Library Trustees reported 35,000 visitors in the library's first 40 days despite record-breaking snow, with over 400 patron feedback responses mostly positive. The board unanimously approved a revised meeting room policy addressing elections and reservations while maintaining political neutrality, on a motion by Trustee Tara Donner.
The library continues to address plumbing issues with the building owner; final project costs are expected by June. The town authorized $34.5 million in borrowing for the building project and has borrowed $33 million so far.
