ITAC discusses AI implementation research project for town operations.

BELMONT — The Information Technology Advisory Committee approved prior minutes and discussed a proposed AI implementation research project for Belmont municipal operations. Co-chairs Dave Goldberg and Dan Ellard led discussion on Select Board Vice Chair Taylor Yates' proposal to research artificial intelligence tools, with the committee agreeing that AI research falls within its mandate to advise town boards on technology implementation. The five voting members present voted 4-1 with one abstention to accept February minutes.

The committee set a July timeline for preparing an educational report on municipal AI adoption for the Select Board and scheduled the next meeting for May 21, 2026.
