ITAC approves annual report; backs public smart home security event.
Information Technology Advisory Committee · Meeting of February 23, 2026
Belmont Information Technology Advisory Committee backs smart home security education event. The committee voted unanimously to sponsor a public information session on internet-of-things device vulnerabilities, data privacy risks, and mitigation strategies, to be organized by interested members and held in early April at the Belmont Public Library community room. Daniel Ellard will coordinate recording and live-streaming through the Belmont Media Center; Paul Roberts and other committee members will develop presentation content and may demonstrate smart devices and network monitoring tools.
The committee also unanimously approved its 2025 Annual Report and scheduled its next meeting for April 16, 2026.
