Housing Trust reviews zoning proposals and affordable housing initiatives

Housing Trust · Meeting of April 14, 2026

Belmont Housing Trust approves prior minutes and hears zoning updates. The five-member trust, attending remotely, voted unanimously to adopt March 10 minutes, with Michael Marotta abstaining. Conor McCormack of the Office of Planning and Building reported that the Brighton Street zoning proposal will reach the Fall Town Meeting and that the Planning Board will review Section 6.10 of the Inclusionary Zoning Bylaw.

The town awaits state approval of the McLean Zone 3 sub-district A regulatory language; sub-district B has been signed by the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities, allowing those units to count toward Belmont's subsidized housing compliance. Fair Housing training is scheduled for May 21 and 26.
