Belmont's Historic District Commission approved a new two-car garage at 480 Pleasant Street. Chair Carl Solander moved approval with conditions; the vote was 5-0-1. The replacement garage occupies the same footprint as the deteriorating structure but is wider, using Boston blend stone veneer, stucco, wooden windows, and Nantucket Collection doors.
The commission also approved its June 23 meeting minutes and discussed a drainage solution for the 1884 horse trough in Belmont Center, which will require a stone mason's plan.
