Historic District Commission approves Homer Building exterior restoration project.

BELMONT — Historic District Commission approves two major preservation projects. The Commission voted 5-1 to approve exterior restoration of the Homer Building (19 Moore Street), authorizing roofing work, soffit and bracket repairs, gutter replacement, and related measures, with final HDC approval required for replacement slate materials; John Beaty dissented. In a separate unanimous vote, the Commission conditionally approved the Belmont Community Path at Concord Avenue Bridge, a 12-foot-wide shared-use path running between Brighton and Clark Streets with a new pedestrian underpass, subject to final subcommittee review of fencing, benches, bicycle racks, and pavers; construction is planned for 2027-2029.
