BELMONT — Historic District Commission approves applications for heating and window work. The commission voted unanimously to approve cedar louvred screening for heat pumps at 543 Pleasant Street after applicant Kal Banger demonstrated that gas and rear placement options were infeasible due to tree roots and setback constraints. A 5-1 vote approved window replacement at 631 Pleasant Street, with member Matt Schonewald opposing because the clad wood design conflicts with current guidelines; Chair Carl Solander noted the commission's evolving position on high-quality replacements.
The commission also unanimously cleared siding replacement at 27 Wellington Lane and adopted a fee schedule forwarding to the Select Board.
