BELMONT — The Belmont Historic District Commission voted unanimously to approve exterior repairs at 30 Somerset Street, including siding, trim, fascia, gutters, hardscape, and fence replacement proposed by homeowner Vincent Batteur, who also won agreement to pursue bluestone replacement of brickwork pending future HDC approval of materials. In a separate vote, the Commission hired Skelly Preservation Services to update the Historic District Design Guidelines for no more than $9,999, with the redesigned standards to address modern elements such as EV chargers and cameras and incorporate revisions to the application and demolition delay processes. Planning Manager Conor McCormack said a HDC subgroup will oversee the work.
