Belmont Energy Committee accepts resignation of member Claus Becker, triggering a vacancy on the Comprehensive Capital Budget Committee that Co-Chairs Brian Kopperl and John Kolterman both seek to fill. The committee is pursuing two paths to resolve a staffing constraint blocking pursuit of Climate Leaders Community status: Roger Wrubel will contact a consultant previously identified at $25,000 annually to handle reporting and grants, and Kopperl will explore whether Belmont Light can absorb those duties. A Department of Energy Resources decarbonization roadmap grant with a late July deadline remains available.
The Belmont Drives Electric event is targeted for November, pending confirmation of Belmont Light sponsorship. Srishti Kar reported the high school Climate Action Club has not met since April, citing the Work to Rule policy as an obstacle to recruitment.
