Energy Committee approves new co-chair and plans fall electric vehicle event.

BELMONT — Energy Committee unanimously approves Peter Dizikes as co-chair alongside Roger Wrubel, starting July 1, replacing departing Brian Kopperl. Committee members Marty Bitner, Gregory Piotrowicz, and Kevin Bleau will lead a Belmont Drives Electric event in fall 2026. The school system will deploy seven electric buses beginning in fall, with Highland and Dougherty schools exploring a shared charging facility for neighboring communities.
The town recently hired Chief Financial Officer Jeff Lubien, removing a barrier to Climate Leaders Coalition membership, and is pursuing a July 31 grant for a decarbonization roadmap consultant.
