BELMONT — The Belmont Energy Committee approved June minutes and advanced plans for a November 7 electric vehicle showcase event tentatively set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at a 50 dollar-per-hour school venue. Co-Chairs Peter Dizikes and Roger Wrubel reported that the town intends to hire a sustainability manager and will withhold Climate Leaders Community membership until that position is filled. Kevin Bleau reported Belmont Light will delay active promotion of time-of-use billing pending rate review completion and is exploring network geothermal grant opportunities with MassCEC through the "Emergent Urban Concepts" program.
Committee members will compile a list of initiatives for the sustainability manager to prioritize once hired.
