BELMONT — The Energy Committee prepared to ask voters for a full-time Sustainability Director position. Co-Chairs Peter Dizikes and Roger Wrubel crafted a one-page proposal for November town meeting members, gathering information from Lexington and Acton on how those towns structure such roles. The committee planned a fall "Belmont Drives Electric" event, with member Gregory Piotrowicz coordinating with the state Department of Energy Resources Clean Cities program and dealership participation.
Belmont Light is pursuing a $300,000 feasibility study grant from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center for thermal energy networks and smaller battery storage projects as alternatives to its current renewable energy credit program.
