BELMONT — Economic Development Committee advances coordinator initiative and Belmont Center Overlay. The committee approved prior minutes and discussed next steps for the Economic Development Coordinator position, including outreach to comparable towns and possible consultation with economic development professional Alan Manoian; members also explored grant funding to support the role initially. Secretary Wendy Etkind reported that EDAC's alcohol licensing initiative resulted in unanimous Select Board approval of proposed bylaw amendments on January 26.
Committee Co-Chairs Marie Warner and Jeff Broderick are refining a draft letter to the editor expressing support for the Belmont Center Overlay. The committee approved a Neighborhood Liaison Program assigning geographic districts to members for business outreach and engagement as part of its 2026 work plan.
