BELMONT — The Belmont Economic Development Advisory Committee unanimously approved July minutes and endorsed a new marketing strategy for the town's zoning overlays, including an AI-optimized website and social media campaign designed to attract real estate developers and prospective businesses. Co-Chair Marie Warner and five voting members discussed a prototype "Story Map" tool for Hill's Crossing and approved Chris Ryan's proposal to draft a storyboard featuring development center pages for September presentation. The committee reviewed progress on the Collins Center permitting audit, noting that an online survey is open and an OpenGov platform is expected to launch several permit types within one to two months.
Members tentatively scheduled a fall Business Networking Event for October 27 and discussed recent commercial activity, including Leader Bank's move to the former Bank of America space and Watertown Savings Bank's five-year lease at the former TD Bank location.
