Cultural Council shifts grant strategy to larger projects

BELMONT — The Belmont Cultural Council voted unanimously to approve its prior meeting minutes during a February 25 Zoom session where Council Chair Vicki Amalfitano outlined a new grant-award strategy. Rather than distributing more grants with smaller funding amounts, the council plans to prioritize larger grants for major projects, with council-designated projects limited by state guidelines to 20 percent of annual funding. Amalfitano requested additional funding from the town Select Board and Administrator to support expanded programming and multi-cultural initiatives.
