CPPC Discusses Governance Changes, Phase 1 Advances

BELMONT — The Community Path Project Committee discussed governance changes, including reducing ex-officio membership and converting the School Committee liaison position. Chair Holly Muson reported that 100 percent design for Phase 1 was submitted in December and is awaiting feedback from the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. The Belmont Conservation Commission and Historic District Commission approved materials specifications for the historic stone bridge.
The Metropolitan Planning Organization expressed support for the project despite a substantial increase in construction estimate, with a Massachusetts Department of Transportation advertisement date set for August 15.
