Community Preservation Committee approves $3.6 million in project funding

Belmont approves $3.6 million for Sherman Gardens, trails, and other FY2027 projects. The Community Preservation Committee voted unanimously to fund the Redevelopment of Sherman Gardens at $2.025 million, with additional allocations of $500,000 for the Community Path right-of-way project and $250,000 for Phase 2 design work that leverages $1 million in state funds. The committee also allocated $212,000 for Belmont Cemetery restoration, $80,000 for Beaver Brook invasive species control, and $35,000 for the Brendan Grant Flagpole Grounds Project.
The Belmont Housing Authority, Conservation Commission, Council on Aging, and Age Friendly Action Committee all voted unanimously in support of their respective projects.
