BELMONT — Community Path Project Committee advances multi-phase trail to Waltham. Committee Chair Holly Muson reported that the Metropolitan Planning Organization has approved Phase 1 for the FFY2026 Transportation Improvement Plan, with MassDOT and MBTA review processes advancing on schedule and engineering firm Nitsch preparing plans and specifications for June submission. For Phase 2, the committee plans to request $250,000 in Community Preservation Act funds before Town Meeting, which would unlock $1 million in federal funds, while the Belmont House Authority finalizes the route alongside Belmont Village and Waltham explores options to close the gap between the two communities.
