Community Path Project Committee · Meeting of August 19, 2026

BELMONT — Community Path Project Committee discussed advancing Phase 1 design and engagement plans. Committee member Holly Muson reported the design is 100 percent complete and the project will be advertised by MassDOT in September, with bidder selection expected in November and construction planned for Spring 2027. The committee is continuing work on Phase 2 route selection and coordinating with a new Moraine Street residential development that requires survey work.

Senior Planner David Loutzenheiser of MAPC presented four proposed Waltham section routes for the Mid-Commuter Rail Trail. Committee members assessed each option's feasibility following conversations with landowners.
