Committee removes enterprise funds from consent agenda

Belmont capital budget committee approves enterprise and CPC projects. The Comprehensive Capital Budget Committee voted 6 to 0, with 1 abstention, to remove Articles 28A and 28B, totaling $2.59 million in Water, Sewer, and Stormwater enterprise capital expenditures, from the proposed Town Meeting consent agenda. Chair Christine Doyle cited the need for adequate context before Town Meeting.
The committee unanimously endorsed both articles separately. In related business, five Community Preservation Committee projects received approval, including Sherman Gardens redevelopment, two phases of the Belmont Community Path, Beaver Brook Invasive Species Management at $65,000, and the Brendan Grant Field Flagpole Grounds Project. The committee identified approximately $1.95 million in discretionary capital for recommendation at Annual Town Meeting.
