BELMONT — The Multi-Year Budget Advisory Committee confirmed three Budget Summits beginning in October. The committee reviewed assumptions for revenue sources including Chapter 70 aid, New Growth, Investment Income, and Local Receipts, plus expense categories for School, Town, and Facilities. Town Administration and the Chief Financial Officer will refine these assumptions to inform the FY28 budget model.
The committee discussed health care assumptions related to the town's transition to the Group Insurance Commission, with additional data expected in November. Conor McEachern agreed to provide research on municipal debt ratios, reserve ratios, and tax burden comparisons for Belmont and comparable communities.
