Board withdraws COLA base increase from town warrant
Belmont Contributory Retirement Board · Meeting of May 18, 2026
Belmont Contributory Retirement Board withdraws COLA base increase from warrant. Chair Thomas Gibson reported that the board unanimously voted to remove Warrant Article 17, which sought to increase the COLA base to $15,000, following lack of support from the Select Board, Warrant Committee, and School Committee. Members Donna Tuccinardi, Brian Antonellis, and Ross Vona concurred.
The board plans to return with alternative funding options at the fall town meeting with the benefit of the 2026 System Valuation. The board also granted accidental disability retirement benefits to Kevin Rooney, pending PERAC approval.
