Belmont Contributory Retirement Board · Meeting of February 23, 2026
BELMONT — The Belmont Contributory Retirement Board selects new legal counsel in RFP decision. The Board voted 4-1 to hire attorney Kathleen Kiely-Becchetti of KKB Law Group as primary counsel, with attorneys Michael Sacco and Katherine Hesse retained as backup, citing Kiely-Becchetti's lower fees and 32 years of Chapter 32 experience. The Board unanimously approved a revised NEPC contract extending through December 31, 2032.
The Board also discussed a potential increase to the retiree COLA base, which has stood at $13,000 since 2017; Town Administrator Patrice Garvin noted that an increase would significantly impact the town's budget amid talk of a potential 2029 override.
