Belmont Council on Aging sets spring programming dates and approves facility updates. The Age in Place Resource Fair is scheduled for April 29, featuring town assessors discussing tax relief and driver evaluation. The board also approved a speed dating event on March 15, a ceremonial flag burning program, and a Veteran's Memorial Day Breakfast on May 21.
The town is funding $125,000 for library and furniture renovations at the senior center, with $80,000 requiring Town Meeting approval. An Eagle Scout will revamp the bocce court, and staff additions include two social work interns and a new SHINE coordinator starting in the fall.
