Belmont capital committee prepares report as healthcare costs threaten budget. The Comprehensive Capital Budget Committee met remotely Friday to prepare its Town Meeting report, with particular focus on the Chenery roof project and capital stabilization fund allocations. Member Chris Doyle briefed the committee on Multi-year Budget Advisory Committee concerns about rising healthcare expenses and a retirement board cost-of-living adjustment that would add an estimated $500,000 to the FY2027 budget.

The committee approved the April 27 meeting minutes, 5 to 1.
