Beech Street safety plan approved unanimously by TAC

Belmont Transportation Advisory Committee approves Beech Street traffic calming design. Unanimous vote advanced a package of raised speed tables, a stop sign at the Orchard Street intersection, signage, and an optional solar-powered rapid flashing beacon costing an additional 17,900 dollars to the Select Board. Wayne Chouinard, Assistant Town Engineer, said the base project is estimated at 34,908.50 dollars.
The committee also elected Daniel Eldridge as chair, with Chip Gaysunas moving to vice-chair and Jeffrey Roth continuing as secretary; Gaysunas highlighted the Payson Road and Fairview Avenue intersection as a crash concern meriting study.
